Bloggers IRL

I met Monica through our Blogs.

Monica introduced me to Karen I introduced my friends Sheri
and Regena, to Karen (all through Blog Land) Yesterday, Sheri, Regena and I all loaded into my car and made our way to Anna Lena Land
Where we met IRL {in real life} our imaginary blogging friend Karen & her friends Robin and Connie.
Front row: Sheri and Karen
Back row: Robin, Connie and Regena {I'm behind the camera}

If you haven't been over to Karen's Blog. You must! And if you already know about Karen and her Blog {not to mention her fabrics, patterns, designs, books, etc. etc. etc.} Then you'll recognize this picture of her studio.
I thought we'd all died and gone to heaven. Because surely this is what heaven looks like to a quilter. Way better than you can possibly imagine looking at the pictures on her site. Just incredible.

Karen fixed a simply awesome Tea for us. Yummy scones, and little cucumber sandwiches, filled our plates, along with other yummy goodies.

Knowing I would be going, I said to self. I must bring a hostess gift. What shall I do? Than I remembered this box of Scrumptious scraps that I received in Sheree's Give Away this summer. And I thought to self, "me thinks there were some orange and turquoise scraps in that box."
And there was! So I made a little quilt for Karen. In her favorite colors. All but 2 pieces of fabric came from Sheree's box of scraps!
I have been inspired by ALL the wonderful houses that have been built all over Blog Land. And I have been on a little kick of sorts, making them. I just love em. For Karen's quilt I pieced the main part of the houses and then raw edge appliqued the doors, windows, and clouds.
I did the free motion quilting on Queen Elna
Including the cute little flowers and bee's.
And of course ended with a label. The day was fabulous! I love meeting my blogging friends IRL! Thank you Karen for your Simply Awesome hospitality. And what a pleasure it was to meet Robin and Connie! I think I could have sat and chatted, listened and soaked up their knowledge & creativity ALL day. Good stuff I tell ya. Good stuff.
