Quilt No. 3
Quilt No. 3 for our No. 3
No. 3 collects Coca Cola memorablia. He also did his own room not too long ago. As in picked out the paint and painted it. I was a little skeptical of the colors at first. But it turned out great. One wall is orange. As in Home Depot orange. Another wall is part brown and part blue with a shelf to divide the two colors, where he keeps a few things from his collection.
Earlier this year I found an awesome sheet on Etsy. Isn't it great! I used it for the back.
I picked up colors of his room and added a bit of red in most the blocks, and sashed it with a gray Kona Cotton.
Hubby picked out the binding on one of the fabric store trips he chauffeured me to. Did pretty good if you ask me.
I think each quilt turned out just as I had pictured. No patterns. Just sewing as I went. And I couldn't have done it without my hubby's help. Thanks bunches hun.

The quilts for your children are wonderful as I am sure your children are also. Thanks for sharing.
Son number 3 has great taste and style. Love the shelf to divide the colors. Fantastic quilt. Another great choice by Mr. Pleasant Home and I know your boys are thrilled with their handmade quilts from Mom.
don't tell your kids, but i think this is my favorite!! wow, i really love it. you have done sucha great job (with hubby's help) on these quilts fighting thru all the adversity! great job!
Love, love and love goes out to all three quilts. Your work is so much fun. Send son #3 to my house to help with paint color coordination. Great room he has there!
Once again - great quilt and binding. The room is awesome with all those deco.
They all turned out great!
Lucky boys. Great job, especially when we know you haven't been feeling well. My goal (again) this year is to not buy much fabric, but to use the stuff I have. But, those cotton solids are REALLY calling to me!
I have loved seeing each of these quilts. All three are amazing and I love how much thought you put into personalizing them for each of your sons.
You make me want to give quilt making a try!
Your quilts are wonderful! I've enjoyed browsing through your blog since I found it a few days ago. Your photography is great and I love the way you share your heart and the things dear to you. When I saw the photos of Mt. Hood from your home I knew exactly where you live! I live in Canby and I've been to your neighborhood often to enjoy the history and the views from there. I am so fascinated with Mt. Hood and wish I could have a home with a fantastic view. Maybe some day I will! When we were first married, many years ago, my husband was the pastor of a small church just south of The Dalles. From the little, old parsonage front windows and porch we had a great view of the other side of the mountain - I loved it then and I love it now! Thanks for sharing yourself and your world with us. I will be back often!

What a fun trio of quilts! I'm sure they'll be loved for many years!!
How cool is that? Great quilt to match the room decor :-)
I love it!! And your honey did a great job on the binding selection too. And your son, wow.. he has a good eye for color too. I never would have thought to put those together.
How perfect is that??? It will look awesome in that room and I love that sheet.
Super quilt, again. Hubby is good at picking out the fabric.
is a funny quilt!!! i love the colors!!!! great job Jodi!!
WOW! It just keeps getting better and better with each quilt you show! I love how this quilt turned out. It fits the room so well.
awesome! How have you been feeling? Did you get any thing settled as far as your health? I sure hope so!
I love the color combo. It's beautiful!
They all look awesome. thanks for sharing
Such a fun quilt! How great that your son picked out the colours and painted his room. I've been teaching my boys from a young age to not be afraid to fix/try things around the house. At 11 they both asked for tool boxes with their own tool collection and love to help out around the house. Hubby is just beginning to be a bit more handy, so we are all learning together. Luckily I have brothers who are very patient and can do anything. My boys will learn from them too.
Tell hubby he has great taste and a real eye for colour.
Happy New Year.
Wow, very striking quilt. One of my husband's best friends is a Coke fanatic too, he'd flip over this! You're wonderful, Jodi. Hope you're feeling much better, and that 2010 treats you well.
Great quilt! It will be perfect for his room. Did all your kids love their quilts? Did you have to sew secretly or did they know all about them?
Wow, I'm impressed. The room is great, and the quilt goes perfectly! I especially like this one, and the story with it. What great gifts and what a wonderful husband. You're not too bad yourself ;).
Love it! Your sons room looks great too...
Happy New Year,
Laurie
I am having such fun, looking at your quilts, well what can I say? I love this one too!! I bet all the boys just loved them. And yes, what a great "eye" your hubby has. Please take care of yourself. hugs!
All three quilts are so BEAUTIFUL, Jodie! What lucky boy-folk!
Happy New Year, Jodie!
Great job pulling all those colors together. It sounds like an odd mix, but seeing it (and the quilt), it actually looks sort of sophisticated. Sometimes I get tired of the same color combinations that are seen over and over (e.g., red and agua). Even though they look great, sometimes they are done to death. Always nice to see something original.
I'm loving your three quilts. They all turned out great and I think it's wonderful that you were sewing without a pattern! And quilting standing up! Wow - what determination.
If you're looking for Coca Cola memorabilia, you should visit Deb at http://garagesalegal.blogspot.com/
She and her husband sell antiques and just picked up a collection of Coke items.
Love the quilt....love his room!!
Loving #3 quilt. Again, you've captured your recipient's style well.
:-D)
Just the love the three quilts you did for your children. They each have a grown up non traditional feel! They will bring them comfort for years I'm sure.
I love how different each of these quilts are, a reflection of your kids' different personalities, I'm sure! Love them ALL! Great score on the coke sheet...
Another beautiful quilt Jodi! I love how each of the quilts are similar, yet so different in the way that you incorporated each boy's different tastes. I'll bet they loved them!
That sheet is perfect. Love the paint. I feel like going to Home Depot.
You are amazing. Hope you are feeling better.
I love Coca-Cola stuff too! This quilt is as fab as the first two!
Please tell us how you are doing - any relief? Explanations?
Your boy's quilts are just wonderful. I love all the bold colors and I bet they do too. It is amazing that you were able to do so much sewing recently.
Your quilts are so amazing!! My sister collects Coca Cola items and this would be perfect for her!
I love how each of the 3 quilts are so individual for each of your children! I am in aww at the fact that you made each one with out a pattern, great job! I sure wish you the best this in this new year!
You have been going to quilting town with all these wonderful works of art! Lucky boys. Each one is uniquely beautiful.
Brenda
excellent! I love his room too - You may have a future designer on your hands! Great work - and all while feeling under the weather? Even more impressive!
What a wonderful gift for your boys and even when you weren't feeling your best you got them done. They will treasure them.
Happy New Year - Karen
Nice when a collaborative project comes together, LOL! Your hubby did do a good job on his end. How satisfying to get finished project to match the picture in your head, for all three quilts. Congratulations!
Jodi, all 3 of your children's quilts are so beautiful. And I love how you decorated all 3 rooms. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Hugs,
Millie
