I thought I'd give you all a little update. So many have asked and have been so kind. I've been debating on what to post? {without giving you my whole health history} LOL. In a nutshell. I have had Classic text book symptoms of problems with my gallbladder.
But, my gallbladder is perfectly healthy. (as are most my other organs and body parts).

So,,,, More doctors. More tests. More theories. More guesses. More meds. More scopes and probes and scans and who knows what else.
But, I've had a couple really good days with less pain & I was able to pull off and enjoy our family Christmas Party last night! Hooray!
I even have a couple blog posts up my sleeve. Next week I'll be playin along with the Nester and her Christmas Tour of Homes! Will be so fun.
So after all the festivities last night, I'm a bit pooped. I'm headed for the couch and the DVR. {Christmas Chick Flicks here I come}. P.S. keep the suggestions or similar stories coming. I'll take all the help I can get. ;o) ooxx`jodi

I had problems with my gallbladder for years and no one could ever find a problem, then one day they say it is chucked full of stones and has to come out NOW! Hope they can find the problem. Enjoy the Christmas flicks.
Prayed for you today! Glad you are feeling some better!!
So glad ypu are feeling better. This is not the best time of the year to be sick. Get well and lots of hugs,
Millie
I almost emailed today to check into how you were feeling. I do pay attention, I just don't seem to find time to comment on blogs as much anymore. Product of deadlines...and I have 4 the first week in January! yikes. btw, a friend of mine made 3 versions of your peppermint table runner. Here's her blog post case you are interested. http://quilter000.blogspot.com/2009/12/done-little-sewing-this-past-week.html
I am glad that you are doing somewhat better but I sure hope they find out the problem soon so you can mend and get back to business...
OH My! I had something like this happen to me this past year...they thought it was gallbatter...nope. They thought pancreas (how do you spell that?)...nope. They thought it was Chrones...nope... and then they found out I have an allergy to gluten (Celiacs Disease). In all, it took 16 months to figure out what was wrong... thousands of dollars... lots of pain...
I hope they can figure out what yours is soon! You will be in my prayers...
Okay, my 2 cents worth, my 20 year old daughter had gallbladder symptons but when they did the test for function she was at 94%. But they said that 94% was actually overactive. After much debate because her gallbladder was "normal" they removed it. It was 1/3 the normal size and did show scarring but no stones or even sand. Good news, it was causing all the pain. She is doing much better now. No more problems. Good luck, I hope they can figure it out soon.
Well, I'm glad you're feeling better, but I wish they could find out what's wrong with you! 'Cause we want it to go away!
Hope this is the beginning of better things to come for you Jodi!!
Sorry you're having troubles. That's no fun.
When they checked your gall bladder, did they do an ultrasound & a HIDA scan? Sometimes it's more sludge than stones and that isn't always visible with ultrasound.
Have you had scopes?
Crohn's, colitis?
Hope they figure it out soon.
What a bummer to feel so lousy during this season. There is always so much to do and one certainly doesn't need to have that precious time taken up with doctor appointments and not feeling well. I hope that you will soon be up and running and have a good diagnosis. Hugs.
It was the HIDA scan that came back at 94% .
Dear Jodi,
I am praying for wisdom for the doctors so they can give you the answer. Glad you had a good time at your party. Take care.
Ahhh, the galbaldder. I was told my was perfectly healthy, too. Then I was in the ER with my body in shock and had a week long stay because of pancreatitus. They (again) said gallbladder looked great. Convinced my Legacy doctor to remove it and he said "Wow - that was bad, it should have come out a long time ago." So much for healthy. I hope you figure it out soon. I know how troublesome it can be! (SAME thing happened with my mom last year - same great Legacy doctor removed it.) So if that's what you think it is, keep pushing the doctors!
Since you didn't answer my text......How R U?
Glad you are feeling better.Take care and hope you have a wonderful holidays!
Eh, you're just trying to hog all the attention away from Santa! ;)
Seriously, glad you are feeling better. Just spent last Wednesday at the UNC ER with my daughter who was displaying "classic gallbladder trouble symptoms." A couple of ultrasounds and an interesting series of interns they determined that she has an Alien about to burst forth.
Okay, she has gastritous (sp?) which can be a pre-cursor to an ulcer. She totally got that from her dad's side of her heritage. We are iron bellied and willed folk.
Hope it's something as simple as that for you too. all she has to do is take zantac, improve her diet, and lower her stress levels.
Merry Christmas! I love the Santa mugs everywhere, and I LOVE the white tree in your bedroom! I will enjoy following your blog, you take such god pictures!
