The kids had gotten a little quiet that afternoon. Didn't really think to much about it.
Son #2 came and asked if I'd sew something on my sewing machine. What I asked? "Oh just a towel, we're making a sling shot for water balloons." I roll my eyes, and say sure.
A little later, #3 comes and asks if they can go to the Dollar Store. Sure, I say.
A bit later, I head downstairs and outside, to see what they're up to. When I see this!
I should have known a balloon sling shot would entail more than what I was actually picturing in my own head. And yes, they were launching balloons OVER the house! 
Fun in the Summertime....

It was the quiet that should have given this away. Over the house - did the neighbors like this and my first thought was who is going to get the water balloon pieces off of the roof. You can tell I have teenagers too! It does seem like good creative fun.

Lynn, We live in a culdesac. No homes or peoples were harmed in this experiment. LOL

How wonderful to have those memories! (I didn't realize your blog had been around for SO long! ) And I can imagine your surprise when you saw those 'slingshots' LOL There's gotta be a better name for them! Something more military I think! A catapult perhaps???
Where were they with that gizmo when my bratty neighbor was launching balloons at my 3 little hens who were quietly hanging out in their wee little pen?
