The Yankee Trader

We're home from our little break. Although I love my comfy bed and my own shower, I am never ready to come home from the beach. One of our favorite places to get away to, is the coast. We stay in a cute little house and thoroughly enjoy our time there.

There is a shop that I must visit each time I go. The Yankee Trader. Would you like to go on a little tour? Well let's go!

We haven't even gotten inside the door yet and you're totally loving it, aren't you!

Are you lovin those red rubber boots? I have my own pair of red rubber boots. I {heart} them.

Oh and I almost forgot to show you the horse! It stands next to the porch. We are always happy when we drive up and the Open sign is on the horse. See, Yankee Trader doesn't have regular store hours, so I was a happy girl when we drove up Saturday.

O.K. close your eyes, turn to the left, now open them! Oh yes. Tons of good stuff. You can spend hours in this shop.

LoVeD this new little area. Pink mixer, guitar, a big Ice Cream Cone and a cool retro t.v.

The owner who's name escapes me right now, creates these fantastic cakes!

The Red, White and Blue cakes are my favorite {of course}.

I wear Over-All's all the time. I wish these converse would have been my size.

And this. No I didn't buy it. And Yes, I'm totally regretting it. I may even call her tomorrow and buy it. I debated. And debated. And debated. It's a fantastic quilt. Machine pieced, hand quilted and loved.

And this sign. I think that will be part of the purchase tomorrow too. I hope she ships....

Her displays are fantabulous. Loved this one.

And I always spend a good amount of time in the Red and White area.

And in the end, I only bought three things. I was trying really hard to be a good girl. And I'm also trying to save my pennies for new floors.

I LoVed these tins! Strawberries and Raspberries use to be big business in these parts.

Growing up we had both in our garden at home. I grew up eating homemade Strawberry and Raspberry Freezer jam. mmmm... So I had to have these tins.

I have the perfect shelf for them to go on. {I'll share that with you soon}.

And I've been collecting Souvenir plates. I want to get all the states I've visited. I totally fell for the yellow band on this Colorado state plate. I'll share my souvenir wall soon too.

I did so good. All three items and didn't even spend $10. Yay for me! If you'd like to see more of the Yankee Trader, I did a post last year. You can find it HERE.

The minute I saw your pictures I thought of Lori H. I see she has already left a comment.
Those altered cakes are so original! I've never seen anything like them before. So many possibilities!
Welcome home.

Loved the tour! Is that shop in Depoe Bay? It looks familiar but I can't remember where it is. Love the flag quilt - hope you decide to make it yours!

Ohhhh, such lovely goodies! From your last post I gather this place might be in Seaside?? Is that right? Do tell cuz I am going to Cannon Beach next week to get our college girl from the conference center where she has been working all summer. If this is in Seaside I am going! Wish I had known about it in July as my daughter and I spent a few hours in Seaside on my birthday. This time I will have my hubby tagging along and I am SURE he won't be as much fun to shop there with. ;)

I love, love love the beach and am blessed enough to live close to both the Washington and Oregon beaches. Where is The Yankee Trader located? I must go there!

Many Blessings,

Love the shop what a treat for the eyes!!! And the Colorado plate, I think my Grandparents had one when I was growing up. They lived in CO. Boy did that ever bring back memories. Thanks for the great post.

I'm getting all caught up before I flush my reader. SO I've been up and down the blog deciding which post I had to comment on. The cakes won. Incredible. I would love a fake cake just to look at all the cute stuff just like those.
