Good Morning Bloggy Land! I was thinking... Normally I feature a Quilty / Sewy blog on Monday Mornings in my regular feature called Needle little Inspiration. But today I wanted to do something a little different. So before we put the pedal to the metal. {that would be your sewing machine pedal!} I thought I'd share a little Inspiration in the form of some Patchworky style Scrap Quilts.

Does that get your juices flowing? Awesome Inspiration, don't ya think?
This week we'll start on Project 1 ! I had lots of questions in regards to my Scrappy 2009 quilt. So that's where we'll be starting! I consider the Scrappy 2009 quilt to be a Patchwork style Scrap Quilt. It's easy peasy and I can't wait to see your first block!
Your first assignment for Project 1 {the Patchworky style Scrap quilt} is this:
Take a look at your scrap stash. Be thinking what colors you will be wanting to use in your Patchworky style Scrap quilt. I didn't use any brown, black or purple background fabrics in mine. You will find; Blues, Reds, Pinks, Oranges, Yellows, and Greens.
Maybe you have a lot of earthy colors? Maybe you have a lot of Browns, Blacks and Purples in your scrap stash. {Wouldn't that be a pretty quilt.} Perhaps you don't have any Yellow at all. My quilt would have a completely different look without any Yellow, but I think would still be a fantastic Scrappy quilt.

Do you want your blocks to be colorful and bright? Do you want them to be muted? Do you want to follow Jacquie's { Jacquie G photostream } lead above and make blocks all one color?
Assignment for Project 1: Look at your Scrap Stash. Be thinking what colors you'll be including or not including. Perhaps you'll be including them all! It's totally up to you.
And remember, these are your scraps! If you don't like your first block. You can always make another and it's O.K. So don't stress over it. If you find yourself unsure and uneasy, then walk away and wait until we start sewing. Inspiration will come!

Oh and a little birdie whispered in my ear that there is going to be another Scrappy Give Away today! How seriously cool is that. I'll let you know when it's up and running!

Now, I had all kinds of other things on my to do list for today but you are a terrible temptress.
Off to go browse through the scraps...
LOVE all of these quilts...and I'm definitely going to make your 2009 quilt...already have my colors picked! (BTW...I just posted my scrappy giveaway!)
This is very cool...will you come with a block pattern?
I pulled a bag of brights and going to power sew
There will, of course, be red in my quilt, but I think I'll pull all my bright colors out and play. I can't wait to get started. I'm pretty sure I can squeeze just a little time out each night to piece on block right?
Oh they are all such happy quilts. Can't wait to get started. I think I'm going for the bright colors.
I love your scrappiness:) My scraps seem a bit dull so might have to sneak in some of my other fabrics as well, but definitely won't head to a fabric store! Yay. Ciao
My scraps are not even in the same ballpark and these gorgeous ones! Mine are real scraps...ugly and old :)
I tend to get lost in my scraps and waste hours deciding what goes where so I think I will put a whole lot in a box, dip my hand in and just pull one out. If the next one absolutely and positively doesn't go I'll pull out another. Anyone else game to do this.
Right, I've decided... I'm going to do it! I'm going to join in. I've layer cakes and charm squares and I'm sure they'll do instead of scraps (unless I'm lucky enough to win some). I want to do the one colour blocks like the photo in your post (I've forgotten the lovely lady's name!).
Oh no, what have I done? Now I'm scared!
I LOVE scrappy quilts more than any others. I just don't seem to have the scraps to do a scrappy quilt or maybe I do. This whole blog is such a inspiration to try and do one. Thank you.
Oh such inspiration. I can't wait to get started!!!
I love the scrappy quilt look. I think I just mite have to make one!
I love scrap quilts love, love them, think I will have to join the fun
oh WOW! what wonderful inspiration!!! LOVE them all! I have to go decide what I am going to use!!!
THANK YOU!!!
This past winter we has a huge snow storm and got stuck in the house for over a week. I spent 3 or those days cleaning out, pressing and organizing my scrap stash...but have not started DOING anything with them...now I will! Sign me up!
Been thinking about getting into my scraps. A scrappy quilt sounds like my kind of thing. Thanks for posting this.
I think I like the grouping of one color per block. And might have to select one fabric for the center of each? Having a good time - scrappy day dreams.
I love this! Thanks for the inspiration....I'm going to raid my scraps. Love all the inspiration quilts you have shown.
