Let It Snow...

I pretty much {heart} snow. We don't get a ton of it here on the valley floor where I live. But we only have to drive a few miles up the road to a little higher elevation and behold... SNOW.

New Years Eve morning we woke up to beautiful blue skies and crisp cool temps. It had snowed recently in the mountains and I decided we really should take a drive on such a beautiful day.

So I drug the hubby out of bed, we bundled up, put some nummy herbal tea in the thermos, put the truck in 4-wheel drive, stopped at the Tolgate Inn for a Blackberry Scone for me and headed out.

What a gorgeous day. It was a beautiful drive. There were hardly any cars on the road. It felt like we had this winter wonderland, all to ourselves. We even came across Snow Lane! I want to live on Snow Lane...
Snow Lane

I would take this lane too. Especially because I know what the view will be at the end...

Yes. Something like this. Something exactly like this. It's our beautiful Mt. Hood covered with a blanket of the beautiful white stuff...
Mt. Hood

Our little drive was the perfect start to the coming New Year...

I so miss Portland and the beautiful trees. I'm loving our 55 and sunny winters in Arkansas, but it's not really winter without snow.

Beautiful!!! We had a wonderful snow here in the mountains of NC, but unfortunately they don't plow here, so you are pretty much stuck at home til it melts, lol.

Oh wow. These pictures are gorgeous. Snow is not my favorite but I can appreciate its beauty. Not sure if it is the snow itself or just the cold that I don't like.

That is so beautiful. I can hear the peaceful silence that comes after a fresh snowfall (as I sit here knowing it will likely reach 70 degrees today). Thanks for the pictures :)

Oh, I'm having a bit of trouble catching my breath! And not being green with envy! I would LOVE to live at the end of that lane. My dream is to once again live where I have a view of my favorite mountain. Mt. Hood has captured my heart - always has, always will. When I was a young bride we lived on the east side of the mountain and I could see the top part out my front windows. Time for us to take a trip up the mountain again. Soon. Thanks for sharing it with us again.

Beautiful pictures, Jodi. We do live in a wonderful part of the country, don't we? You are braver than I am about driving in the snow "just for the fun of it". 2 accidents have made us a little gunshy. Glad you made it home safe and sound.

WOW! The view of Mt. Hood is awesome!!! My husband wants to move to warm weather, but I love it just the way it is here in PA. Looking out my window, I see a lot of that pretty snow right here, and it feels like the right place for me!
