I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my heating pad. I tend to be cold a lot, here in the Pacific Northwest.photo courtesy of Sunbeam
Often you will find me;
wearing a hoody and fingerless gloves, warming my hands over the toaster, putting the blow dryer on high and in my shirt, standing over the furnace vents with a blanket wrapped around me, sleeping with a heated mattress pad, and... watching t.v. or taking naps with the heating pad.
But... the heating pad was ugly.
Until I did this!
I used the Hexagon die with the AccuQuilt Go! Baby cutter and Karen's tutorial over at Sew Many Ways.
I used a Charm pack I had in my stash. The 5" squares fit perfectly for the largest hexagon on the large die with three sizes...
I used Karen's tutorial and nifty template to cut the hexies in half and snip the corners to get them ready to sew... Way fab!
Here they are sewn into rows...
The heating pad is always draped over the back of the couch. Now, it looks purty.
I had so much fun making these large half hexies, I've started making plans for a quilt!
