Another baby = another baby quilt! This one is for a cute little guy. I love how it turned out.

I made the center with pinwheels based on my Tutorial over at Moda Bake Shop from a couple years ago. You can find the tutorial HERE...

Blues, Browns, Oranges, and Greens,. with simple quilting. I had it done in no time at all. Instead of Prairie Points I put a scrappy border around it, framed in white. I'm really pleased with the end result and can't wait to give it to the little cutie!

And for those that asked about this quilt... I made it based on my method for sewing a scrappy patchwork style block.
You can find the tutorial HERE.
It was part of the Sew Scraps Along last fall. Other great tutorials and information on scrappy quilts can be found by clicking on SEW SCRAPS below my header. I don't have the nap mat anymore, it was a gift. So I don't know the exact measurements. But it was about 36-42" square. I'm guessing blocks were 8-9" square, and I'm pretty sure the sashing was 2 1/2".
Happy Sewing ooxx`jodi

That is a truly lovely quilt for a little guy :-)
One question though Jodi: Did you mean for the pinwheels to be turning different directions? In your tutorial they all turn the same way (so that the negatives look like hour glass blocks) but this one seems random? I've never seen it done like this before...! Laura
I love pinnies and for a baby quilt they are just so perfect. Love the color/fabric. And simple quilting lets the design make the quilt.
Pinwheels are my favorite! This is such a cute quilt too. Love the colors!
I adore the 2D Zoo fabric (I even have some stashed!), and I love pinwheels too. This is a perfect boy quilt, which are hard to come by sometimes (as I'm a mom of a little boy!). Great job!
I like the scrappy border even more than the prairie points. And the fabric you chose are perfect for a baby quilt. It's hard to find great prints that work for boys besides blues.
I love yout choices in colors!
I like pinwheels but shy away from them because of the centers. How do you get yours so perfect, what is the secret?
I just made a Pinwheel quilt also but have yet to add the borders. Since I used a Charm Pack for the Pinwheels and there are none left, I think I may add a tiny border of 30's fabric and then a white border like your did. I too love Pinwheels. The quilt turns out so cute and is so simple. I really love the fabrics/colors you used...very much a little man.
This is such a cute baby quilt. I love it!
Great Baby quilt. I love pinwheels too. Is there a tutorial on how to match seams as well as you do?
love it! such a fabulous fabric line. pinwheels are so fun.
Love this little boy quilt. How lucky he is. I'm making twin boy quilts.
I've never made a quilt (I sew mostly clothing) but when I saw your scrappy patchwork style nap mat I knew it would be the perfect way to use an entire bucket of baby clothes my mom had given me (they were once mine almost 40 years ago!). I wonder, do you have any suggestions on sizing or the best way to turn old baby clothes into scraps? Thank you so much for any insight you may be able to offer!
Your work is absolutely beautiful!
this quilt is FABULOUS!!!
between this quilt and that nap mat I'm feeling totally inspired!
I have a FQ of that zoo fabric - love the idea of pinwheels of that mixed with polka dots. Thanks for the great idea! Might try to make really big pinwheels tho so that the zoo animals show up more... hrm.... o the possibilities :)
beautiful quilt! Love the combination of the pinwheels, colors, and patterns.
How pretty! I have the perfect fabric to make something like that too. I love it!

I love the pinwheel baby quilt. so cute.
Lucky Baby Boy!!! I must get pics up of the one I finished for our Grand Daughter! Yes, I finished it.
I love pinwheels, although I am in the midst of making just my first pinwheel quilt - yours at MBS! :) I just put the prairie points on it last night. The baby it's for is due tomorrow, so I hope to have it finished this week and in the mail by early next week.
darling! I like the scrappy border instead of the prairie points for the little guy.
I copied your Moda quilt in Snippets last year. It was a fun one to make. Now you have me wanting one in orange and brown. Too cute!
Love the baby quilt. Sew perfect for a little boy. I've done both your baby pinwheel quilt (working on the binding for this one this morning) and the scrappy quilt and they have to be my most favorite tutorials. I know I'm going to be making more of them. Thank you for all the inspiration and encouragement you provide!
I just love your baby pinwheel quilt. That tutorial is my favorite at the MBS. I have a self imposed rule about there being too many patterrns to make the same one twice. However this pattern keeps making me want to break that rule. It went together so fast and easy and looks wonderful in every colorway I have seen.
