GIVE AWAY CLOSED
Remember the Spring Board Creative Collaboration Event hosted by Andrea of Knitty Bitties, that I told you about on Monday?
Well I'm super excited to "reveal" my project for the Event! There have been some FANTABULOUS projects from the other gals on board. Have you seen them all? Way fun! Here's a little sneak peak of my project...

Each of us were sent this adorable bundle of goodness! 2 Fat Quarters, 1 piece of unbleached cotton, 1 doily and a piece of ric rac. I had lots of fun coming up with a project that used up just about every inch of this bundle.

I added a piece of burlap that was calling my name in the fabric store and here's my project... A fun little tote!

We only have 2 weeks left in April and then it will be May! And do you know what I LOVE about May? {besides my Anniversary, Mother's Day and my Birthday! LOL} I {heart} May Day!
Wouldn't this make a perfect little gift for someone on May Day?
Wouldn't this make a perfect little gift for someone on May Day?
I used the cute red and pink polka for the handles, trim on the pocket and part of the lining inside. I used the green for trim on the tote and the lining. The pocket was made with the piece of unbleached cotton (that I bleached) and the doily (that I bleached too, so they would match the burlap).

Okay this is serious fabulousness!! I knew I'd love what you made! I always do ;)
very pretty! how awesome you were apart of this collaboration ;)
What a lovely tote.
This is awesome! My FAV so far! I was hopeing someone would make a bag and this is so lovely!
I probably did when I was a kid, but Haven't lately!
I was seriously wondering what you'd come up with using the various elements... and the tote is just beautiful!
I never hung May Day baskets on door knobs but remember making nosegays with my grandmother and taking them to shut-ins, with whom we stayed for a while and visited.
I love what you have mode with your little bundle, so pretty.
Oh my goodness! This is the sweetest thing I've seen all week. Love it!!
And when I was a little girl, 5-ish, I celebrated May day. A friend and I may little wildflower bouquets and would leave them for the neighbors.
Absolutely lovely bag - you are so talented. We always made May Baskets as children - what fun it was to ding dong our friends and neighbors.
I haven't ding-dong-ditched on May day, but I have DDD before...when I was a kid - it was probably more annoying then :)
I love the little tote - too cute!
I have been wanting a new bag and this one is just so adorable. Thank you for the chance to win.
Love the tote but do not know what ding dong ditching is.
what a sweet tote, giving me lots of new ideas (thanks a lot! As if I didn't have enough already!) never have done the ding dong ditch. This year we are revealing our secret sis's on May day at church. GOing to make her something pretty...
Love this tote Jodi! My birthday is in May too:>) have I ever done the May Day thing? No, but I intend to this year!
i love love love that tote! oh that i wish i could look at a stack of supplies and dream up something as lovely as this.
and no i've never "ding dong ditched" someone- i've never even heard of that until now:) tell me more??
I kept waiting for someone to make a cute little bag out of their bundle! This is so cute. Love it!
Ummm, also, I have no idea what May Day is :) Gonna go research it right now though!
That is so sweet , I love what you have done with your little bundle !Never even heard of doing this on May Day .
Darling tote! As for ding, dong, ditch...we didn't call it that. I was born, and my younger years were spent, in Corvallis and on May Day we built cones from construction paper, filled with flowers and would leave on our neighbors porch, ring the bell, run and watch their surprise. The '50ies were a good, innocent time!
Lovely tote! You are so creative! Thanks for the chance! I've never ding dong ditched anyone on May Day.
SO sweet! Absolutely love it!!!
This is so adorable!!! I was actually thinking about doing baskets this year the other day for May Day. I haven't done it since I was little. Thank you so much for the change at this great giveaway!!
I recommend ding dong ditching but leave a plate of cookies... helps with the anger ;-)
This is a lovely bag, very creative use of the bundle you were sent!
this is so beautiful!!!
We used to leave flowers for our neighbors when I was a little girl, but I haven't done so in years. Maybe it's time to begin again. I love your cute project! Thank you for sharing...
You've just given me an idea.......
What an adorable little bag! It has been many a year since I "ding dong ditched" anyone!
I am sorry, I don't know what's meant by 'ding dong ditch' :(
I love this adorable bag! Very creative.
It's kind of hard to ding dong ditch in the country but I have lots of memories of doing that with my friends when a was in my young years.
Blessings from Tennessee
What a cutie basket. I didn't know you were supposed to ding dong ditch on May Day . . . tell more ;) Thanks for the chance!
Oh my goodness the little tote is so adorable...love the little doiley on there.
Oh, so pretty. :D
No, it seems to me like I haven't Ding Dong Ditched anyone since I was a kid. I do like to mail surprise packages to my friends, though, but that's hardly anonymous.
Thanks for the inspiration and giveaway.
I LOVE this! so darling:) thanks for giving it away! xo
When I was 5 I made a May Day basket for my mom at school. In those days I walked home so when I got there I put the basket on the porch, rang the bell and hid in the bushes. My mom opened the door, didn't see anyone there so she closed the door without picking up the basket. I was crushed!!
The bag is adorable! Love the burlap and doily combination.
Very cute! I love how the burlap works with the dainty doily.
No, I've never Ding Dong Ditched anyone. May day isn't a big deal around here.
Thanks
Sandy A
what a beautiful tote, I'd love to win! hugs, bonitarose

What a cute little tote!
I haven't ddd on May Day but maybe I will this year (lol). I love, love, love your tote.
Cute little tote! No, I've never ding dong ditched anyone...I have prank called people before though! LOL
That is fantastic and it would be so much fun to win! When I was in grade school I couldn't wait to May Day. We would take an old wall paper sample book, tear out the pages and fold them into little baskets, then fill them with candy, gum and wildflowers to deliver to some of our neighbors. It was so much fun making the baskets!
OMGosh...this is great. Pick me!!! grin.

Ive never done the May Day thing. Just being honest:)
Sarah
Adorable tote!
Your bag is just the cutest thing, I love it. I have never ding dong ditched but you're right it would be fun.
I was ding dong ditched at 1:30 a.m. a couple weeks ago. I'm not a big fan.
Great use of the goodies you received. Really cute bag.
I've never heard of this but it sounds really fun, might just have to try it. I knew your project would be super fabulous.
Beautiful tote. I've never ding dong ditched anyone, but it sounds like fun.
I must not have since I don't know what it is! The bag is gorgeous!!
Burlap fabric! Who would have thought. This bag is so adorable. It is perfect for May Day!
Beautiful Tote... with such different medium you make it beautiful...

I have been following everyone's projects and I have to tell you this is my favorite so far! Love it! I have not ever did a May day, what did you call it?, ding dong...I have been following you for a while and always enjoy your projects.
So fun to see all the things made from that small goodie package. You're a perfect fit for that kind of creativity. love the purse/tote/basket!!!
Beautiful little bag :o) I wasn't sure how the doily would fit in but it looks really sweet!
Cant say I ever have... that I know of... what exactly does it entail?
Great tote! My birthday and anniversary are also in may! So does your husband give you one big present or one for each occasion? I love to follow your blog! I am an organizer, couponer, and all around crafter we have so many things in common.
When I was younger, we did this all the time during the summer but not on May Day. But when I was older I found this charming tradition and practiced it with a friend for a few years. We would leave flowers and some treats. We moved away and I haven't done it since but thank you for the memories and that lovely bag as a reminder. It would be a great surprise for someone!
I love how cute it is. Fresh, springy and ready to carry my library books to the park. Where I would sit on a picnic blanket reading while children ran around playing.
Never have ding dong ditched on May Day. But I do love your lovely little tote. Especially the green fabric. You always have something fabulous on your blog.
I, too, love May. My birthday (19th), Mother's Day and also May Day. I never hear anyone talk about it much but I remember as a young girl doing the ring and run many times in my neighborhood. Sometimes they were only construction paper containers with paper flowers, but I loved it!
Such a cute little tote! I remember May Day as a child. We made paper cones with a handle and filled them with flowers.
So pretty. I've never ding dong ditched before, but that sure sounds like fun...
Hi Jodi.
Your little bag is as adorable as you are!! :o) We are May Birthday girls! :o)
I have never door bell ditched on May Day, but sadly, I confess, I have on plenty of other days. :o)
Thanks for allowing me the chance to win. And a Happy Early Birthday to you!!
Sincerely, Trish
pretty tote! Never heard of this May Day tradition before.
What a sweet basket! I love what you did with the inspiration pieces. Love to read your blog and see your goings on. Thank you.
We've celebrated May Day & left little goodies, even made a May pole one year. Fun! Cute little tote, perfect for spring.
Oh--this bag would make a perfect gift for me great-granddaughter who will be 4 in July--she just adores bags.
Love your sweet little tote! Seeing as I have no idea what ding dong ditching is, it's pretty safe to say I have never done it. Unless it was by accident.
Fabulous bag! I'd love to carry it around. Or do I have to use it to ding dong ditch someone??? I have no idea what that is.
I LOVE DING DONG DITCHIN! I haven't done that in a few years. We even used to do it as a practical joke on other days too...... LOL I love the basket and you can ding dong ditch me anytime! I feel the need to do that this year :D
I don't know anything anout May Day, but I love your tote. Thanks for the chance to win it
So very cute!!! My daughter's birthday is May 1st and I always knew as may-day it was a special day but this would even make it better:) No never done ding dong dash here, but it sounds fun !!
Wow! I'm quite impressed with your creativeness! It turned out so cute.
May Day is such a fun holiday for kids. I have lots of fun memories. But not my daughter's birthday is May 1, so we don't have time to do it! Maybe we'll May 2 people this year!
My birthday is also in May. I have never done the May Day thing but since this is my spring break week from school, I feel a project coming on. Happy Birthday.
This tote is beautifully cute, perfect for the sunnier days ahead!
How perfectly adorable - I'd love to win!
Love what you did with your bundle of fun! The tote is darling.
No, I have never ding-dong-ditched anyone on May day...I feel as if I missed out on a fun thing to do back in the day! ;)
Thanks for sharing!!!
That is the cutest little bag I've seen in a very long time.
And, no, I've never Ding Dong Ditched anyone on May Day. I may have to give it a try this year.
I love the bag! So pretty!!! I've made May Day baskets before but never left them on doors & run away! (And thank you for the reminder that May Day is almost here! That'll have to be the first thing I work on once Easter stuff is finished!)
Love the cute bag, never heard of ding dong ditch sounds like fun though. Thanks for the ideas and the chance to win. Cheryl
this little tote is adorable. It is amazing what you ladies are all coming up with with the same material. When my girls were little we did may baskets with the ding dong dash. That was many years ago. It is such a nice little surprise at the door. I think I need to bring that tradition back to life. My girls are all grown and live on their own but they do remember doing that. Good memories.
Cute tote! I love the way you combined the pack-o-goodies with burlap! I have ding-dong-ditched - and recently too! I am going to again this year. I don't always leave flowers - sometimes it is just a little May basket or cone with a little stuffed animal for a neighbor-grandchild (since my grandchildren are all in their 20s!) or some home baked goodies, etc. It is always such fun! Karin
My best friend and I always do May Day. We do this instead of birthdays and Christmas. It is just a great pick-me-up and so much fun. I would love to win this bag and put pretty flowers in it for her garden. Thanks for the giveaway.
Love this cute little tote! I don't know what a ding dong ditch is so I don't think I've ever done it. Thanks for the chance to win.
Your bag is too cute!!!
Have I ever ding dong ditched anyone on May Day? ahmmm, what do you think? ;) And on Halloween a few times too.......... But no one can prove it in a Court of Law..........
I love this bag. No, I have never ding-donged anyone on May Day but when I taught Kindergarten, we always made May baskets to take home. It is a lovely tradition.
So imaginative on your little tote.
Mary Fioretti
Here downunder I'm not sure what May Day is all about? I do know I love the bag..so cute!!!
May Day - love it and I have did ding dong ditch! lol love the polkadots on the lovely bag.
Yes, my daughters and I ding dong ditched every May Day as they grew up. We would use those green plastic mesh containers that strawberries used to come in from the store. We added flowers, candy and other things to each one. Brings back good memories!
This is just too sweet! What a cute bag! No, I haven't ding-dong-ditched anyone. But others have done it to me...
love the tote. have not done a may basket since I was a kid. linda gerig
I used to dance around a May Pole at the Elem School in PA. BTW I was born May 11th on Mothers Day! I always make my mom a handmade corsage on mothers day from flowers in the garden.
I haven't ding dong ditched anyone on May Day, but I have for plenty of other ones...maybe I'll try it this year!
I like the tote very much and hope I can be brave enough to leave a May basket on someone's door:)
May Day - gosh I haven't thought of May Day in YEARS. That's really sad because I love the idea of May Day. Who wouldn't love to open their door to find fresh flowers waiting for them? I remember making paper flowers and paper baskets in grade school and hanging them on the doors of each classroom. That's the last time I ever did anything for May Day. I'm going to do some doorbell ditching this year though! Cute tote - I love what you created with what you were given!
Nope, haven't ding dong ditched anyone on May Day, but I did today... Does that count?
I simply just love this little bag!
I have never ding dong ditched...I didnt ever know anything about May Day until I was in college!
Thanks for giving this cute May Day bag away!
Love the May Day tote bag! A great project!
What a lovely bag! We don't 'do' May day here in Oz, but I remember as a girl growing up in Nebraska decorating paper cups and paper baskets, filling them with candy and leaving them on the neighbours' doorsteps before ringing the bell and running...
Beautiful tote. Never heard of ding dong ditch someone. We don't celebrate May day in Aus.
It has been years since I have given a May Basket, but what fun it was. A few days ago a very dear friend passed and a May Basket would be nice to give to her Mother. Thanks for the opportunity to win this glorious one. ~Suz
I love your new tote! When I was young, my sister and I used to "ding dong" the neighborhood. It was sooooo much fun. I may have to ding dong our Auntie Reeta this year. She is 100 and will probably receive a basket of cookies!
This little tote is fabulous! Thanks for the great tutorial and giveaway!
What a great tote! I love it! Never heard of May Day!! Must look into that.
Beautiful! And yes, Ding Dong Ditching with a handmade paper cup of spring flowers was always a childhood pleasure that I've passed on to my kids. You can't let May Day pass without it!
I have not "dinged" anyone for Mother's Day yet, but you gave me an idea to do that.
Your spring tote is simply darling!
Thanks for sharing.
I would love to win it....
Nettie
I think your May Day is different from what I know so I have to go with no... I haven't dinged, donged or ditched anyone... at least that I know of LOL
Oh so sweet. I love it.
All the different materials make it even sweeter.
Never ding, dong, ditched, but would love a chance to win your adorable tote. Thanks for the chance to win!
What a lovely bag.
Ding Dong Ditch?? Isn't that something you do in the fall to get rid of your zucchini??? The tote is really cute too!!
I love this little bag. But, confess my complete lack of culture...ding dong ditch and May Day? I had to visit google. Never heard of it. Sounds fun!!
I've never ditched anyone on May Day, but it sure sounds like a fun thing to do. The bag is darling. Count me in.
nbtay@sbcglobal.net
love the basket, but really have no idea what mayday is?
Wouldn't this be the perfect May Basket? Adorable.
Your tote is DARLING! Too bad you'll be giving it away, huh?! ;)
I never have ding-dong-ditched someone, but sounds like a fun new thing to try this year!
I have never ding dong ditched someone on May Day. And I'm pretty sure I've never actually said "ding dong ditched" before either! :-) Anyway, adore the tote. . . what a fun way to use those items! Thanks a bunch for the chance to win it!
Actually, I try to do this for two of my elderly neighbors every year. It's fun!
CAS
I would LOVE to win your beautiful bag! I had to google ding dong ditch to find out what it was...never heard of it! No...never did something like that.
Your tote is super cute. We have brought flowers to some of our neighbors on May Day but not since the kids were little. I think it might be time to do that again. Thanks for the chance to win your wonderful tote.
such a sweet happy tote! we've never done the may day thing, maybe this will be the first year!
I have never....but now I'm inspired to have a little May Day fun!
I had to look up wat ding dong ditch was...no, I've never! Cute springy bag.
Very pretty bag! I don't think I've ever "ding dong ditched" anyone. When I was a child we would hang baskets of flowers on friend's doors on May 1 - your pretty bag would work very well!
Love the bag!!! A long time ago I celebrated May Day.
I love the little bag you so creatively designed. Please add me in for a chance to win it
I have never ding dong ditched anyone on May day but someone did it to me(I think it was my next door neighbor). They left me a cup filled with beautiful flowers from their yard.

Love it Jodi...:O)) So so pretty!!
Ok about this ding dong thing... dont think we do it in Sweden.. you have to tell me more..:O)))
When I was a little girl, my mom and I used to make May Baskets for the elderly ladies in our neighborhood. I was so please when I read about that same tradition in Louisa May Alcott's book "Jack and Jill". Thanks for bringing back sweet memories.
