The floral fabric is from my good blogging friend Karen. It's vintage! Isn't it adorable! It was a little gifty from her a couple years ago. It has taken me this long to have the nerve to cut into it. The selvedge said "Fruit of the Loom" and the date on the label was from the late 50's!

I was thrilled to discover a scrap of Riley Blake plaid (I think it's from a line by Emily Taylor) in my stash that went along perfectly with the vintage floral! I used some fusible fleece on the floral part of the bag for a little more stability. I am really happy with those results. I also put 4 pockets in the inside and they work out perfectly.

I downloaded the pattern from think liz. It's a great pattern and it makes a great bag. One of my simply awesome readers sent me over to the link. Thanks RaeLynn!

Happy Summer Sewing Everyone!

Very cute bag, so fun with those fabrics, they go perfectly together!
Not sure I could cut into vintage fabric, I have a hard enough time cutting into fabric as it is let alone something I'd probably never get again!
I need a fabric support group, 'it's okay to cut the pretty fabric..'
