Our little mini vacay to the coast was fabulous... The sun came out almost every evening. {which I was very glad for}

So many fun things to see...

The flowers at the coast are always so gorgeous...

And the one place i ALWAYS have to stop at...

To get one of these...

{that would be the Eclair Elephant Ear and it's soooo goood.}
We found some really cute houses For Sale...

And i ALWAYS take pictures of the doors...

One of the evenings was absolutely PERFECT. Just gorgeous weather. Not a cloud in the sky, no wind and just the right temp...

The boys headed to the ocean to Skim Board...

This picture makes me want to go back...

We got to spend lots of time with the newest addition to the family. She is growing so fast!

And we always take our picture on the front porch... it's tradition...

And a trip to the coast wouldn't be the same without a stop at the Bowpicker. Yummy...
Albacore tuna lightly beer battered and fried with a side of steak fries. Oh so good...

Now it's back to reality. blah... LOL.
But it's SUNNY at my house finally! And I am a HAPPY - HAPPY Camper!
Today I'm going to try a new recipe and it involves blueberries. mmmm..

Thanks for sharing these wonderful impressions of a beach vacation! I could smell the ocean and longed to be there!
OK, my eyes zeroed in on the elephant ear thingy.
*thud*
You look like you had a wonderful holiday. That elephant ear cake thing looked delicious and your pictures of the sea looked great.
wow, what a wonderful trip. i love that you have so many simple traditions. my fave pic .. the blue door of course - thanks for sharing.
Many years ago, my husband's job had us living in Longview WA -- the few years that we were there, my favorite thing to do was escape to the Oregon Coast -- I have such fond memories of Seaside. Thanks for taking me along this morning :)
Blessings!
Gail
Look how big your grandbaby has gotten! She's a cutie.
I love Seaside. We used to go there often when we lived in Vancouver, Washington. Such an idealic place, especially when the sun shines.
i always love looking at your blog. i love your pictures and you have such a sweet personality. and that eclair elephant ear... oh heaven. i need one!
Great vacation photos! It looks like a wonderful town.
I have given your blog an award. (I'm a new follower) so please stop by to accept!
Thank you for sharing your vacation with us. Your newest family member is adorable. Hugs
No wind?? figures, the year I don't go, no wind.
I'm totally bookmarking this for my future trip to oregon. I've been whining to corrie for a while now. We NEED to go.
When I imagine the perfect little beach town it always seems to look like Seaside. I live there briefly and I loved going for walks and looking at all the cute little house and their beautiful gardens! I'd love to move closer so I can visit again!
Oh how I wish we could go all the way out to Oregon on our vacay. Beer-battered tuna and Eclair Elephant ears! My mouth is watering!
I think Elephant Ears must be a Pacific Northwest thing, cuz I've never seen them anywhere else! We used to get them at the Pike Place Market in Seattle when I was a kid. Always cinnamon/sugar though.....never had an eclair one.....dang that looked good! I think I need to learn to make them!
If Des and Corrie will plan to meet up with you and me, Jodi, that would be an AWESOME time on the Oregon coast!!!
I have a few questions running through my mind as I have always wanted to make this a family tradition with our grown children. 1. Do you own or rent the house? 2 If you rent who do you go through to get a nice listing for a house to rent? My husband and I have next week off and we live in NORTHERN California. I would love to scope this out for next year or maybe Thanksgiving :) thank you kathiebugb@gmail.com
We just got back last night from a week at Astoria Oregon. We spent a day in Seaside. So beautiful there!
Thanks for sharing your photos ..
nothing more beautiful than the Oregon coast! Glad you had nice weather!!! Have you ever had pan seared razor clams at Bell Bouy in Seaside? YUm!!!
my mom and i have S.A.D. days(sneak away days)every so often where we slip away undetected for our fill of razors....mmmmmm...noth'n better!
Oh goodness.. I opened your blog to read your new post and I was surprised to see Seaside in big letters.. :) we live in Seaside.. but I am in Vancouver right now and it was nice to hear someone talking about your city like that.. I am glad you had a good time.
