took a little day trip to Long Beach Washington...

My friend Sheri asked if I'd like to go along on a little day trip with her today... How could I pass that up! Spend a little time with my friend, drive through some beautiful country, chat away, meet some more friends for lunch, have a visit with some of their friends, have dinner at the Bowpicker (twice in one month), and lots more time chatting and catching up.

Sounded perfect to me.

And it was.

I have to admit. I almost didn't take my camera. I kinda just wanted to leave all the tech stuff home. But at the last minute I decided to bring it along. Although it rarely left the camera bag.

I did capture a few pics in the beautiful sunshine that came later in the day. What a beautiful day it turned out to be.

We drove over this bridge twice. The second time everything was so gorgeous!

I love this little church, it seems like something out of a book or movie...

See where it sits.... See what I mean?

I LOVE driving through all the little towns and seeing all the cute country homes... I'd rather drive through a little old town and take pics of old houses than anything else.

And old churches with so much character... Think of all the prayers that have been said here. Gives me goosebumps.

And cool old school buildings that I always day dream about turning into a home.
It was the perfect day! Thanks Sheri for asking me to go along. And Thanks to our friends in Long Beach for inviting us to their little get together. We had so much fun!

Thanks for posting the wonderful pics, I remember them well as we always spent many days at the coast. We even would go to Cannon Beach in the winter to watch the storms roll in....Washington State and Oregon are the MOST Beautiful, great quilt and antique shops too.

That church is beautiful. Great shot! About turning a school into a home, have you ever visited the Pleasant View Schoolhouse blog whose owner did just that?

Hi there

I must say these are some of the most beautiful pictures I have seen since I began blogging.I enjoy looking at photos of countries I have not been to, especially when they come from an experience like yours. Its refreshing to look at some sunny pictures, especially while I am sitting in front of a heater. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, mom and I just got back last night from spending a few days at Long Beach. It was my first beautiful. We stayed in a cute little bungalow on Bolstad and wouldn't you know it, Boardwalk Quilts was just a 1/2 block from where we were. We loved it and truly enjoyed the beach and much relaxing. On our way there we did go over that bridge...never again. That high part totally unnerved me and I am so used to bridges. Crazy, huh! Thanks for would have been fun to meet up with you!

Thanks for letting us go on your little trip through your wonderful photos! I'm glad you enjoyed the day but still took time to snap a few photos. I love the church images. I'm a little obsessed with churches, their doors, and their steeples. I love the one sitting on the cliff!!
