busy, busy, busy...

There has been a serious lack of posting going on around here. But I have good reasons...

Son #1 and his cute little family just bought their first home! And just down the street from us! I've gotten to spend a little one on one time with the cutest little grand-baby ever... They're all moved and settling in just in time for Christmas!
And we had our family Christmas party this past weekend too! In between helping with the move and a few other things going on, I took the Christmas slides from my Gramps' collection and converted them to digital images.

This is my Gram and Gramps in the 50's.

I came across some totally FUN pictures that I hadn't seen in a very long time. How do you like the matching dresses my mom sewed for us? Cute face I'm making too!
I used about 160-180 of the Christmas pics and put them all on a DVD to some old timey Christmas music. It turned out fantastic! Each family took a DVD home.

I plan on converting more of the slides this next year. {he took a LOT of photos}...

So what have you all been up to? If you haven't left me a little note lately, I would love to hear from you!

Now aren't you one lucky grandma having that baby nearby!! Exciting times ahead for both of you!!
Love the photos...what a great gift!
I guess all of us are at our busiest time of the year. I am finishing up color crayon rolls for my youngest grandkiddos and their classes...so fun for both of us!!

Wow! those were some 'nice' dresses, ok maybe the fabric. My mom made us all matching dresses when I was little bitty. I am so glad that is no longer the 'cool' thing to do. Yay for having lots of grandbaby time

Just thought of you today when I put the cute table topper I won from you a few years ago under our Nativity Set. It looks so pretty there. Merry Christmas Jodi! Enjoy the grandchildren!

How nice to have your grandbaby so close to you. You'll be making lots of memories.
My mom sewed for us 4 girls and we wore the same dress pattern just different colors.
I need to put our old family photos on a disc so we can all enjoy them while my dad is still around.
Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas.

How great to have your family so close! And what a beautiful gift to have all of those photos on disc. I made photo albums about 15 years ago for our 3 boys, knowing they hadn't taken any pics with them when they left home. They said it was the best gift they had ever received! But now I think I need to put all those photos on disc; great idea! Thanks!

My mother wasn't a sewer but her sister was. I remember my aunt making us mother/daughter dresses!

Great photos! Did you scan the slides yourself and, if so, what kind of scanner did you use? I have a ton of slides I need to put on disk.
Thanks!

That's the best to have your family move close by!! Your grandbaby will be so much fun. My mother used to make us (the 4 girls) dresses alike too - each one alike but a different color. Cute that you are all dressed alike.

G'day. That is so great for you having your family close like that. I love the expression on your face in the photo. They are lovely pictures. What a great idea for putting photos on discs and giving them to family. Take care. Liz...

Congratulations to your son and his family on their first home! My husband and I purchased our first home this year as well. While it will be wonderful to celebrate Christmas in our house, I wish we were making the trip to Oregon to be with the Grandparents! Enjoy your Christmas with your beautiful grandbaby!

I am technologically ignorant about a lot of the photo stuff...how did you convert slides to digital? My Dad always took lots of slides, and I'd love to do something similar.

Those photos are great! Reminds me of some of Dad's slides.

Thanks! Becky C.

Oh how wonderful for you to have your grand-baby living so close.. I remember there was a time that I had that ... and what fun it was. I love the photos and how you are doing them in DVD's. I have a large container of photos that I want to scan and make a book for my family. Have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy your new neighbors. ♥

Love the old photos! How do you convert them from slides to digital? I have a bunch of old slides that were my grandmother's and I'd love to do that with them. Thanks! :0)

How wonderful for you to have your son and family so close by. Enjoy it! And the dresses are fun too. I remember a couple of years where my mom and us 3 girls had matching dresses for Christmas. Yikes!

I've got a ton of old family photos that need to be converted digitally as well. What was your method...pros/cons? It looks like I'm not the only one interested. Maybe you should post about it! :-)
