Scrappy 60 Degree Quilt Block

Where has this month gone?

When I emailed Kim of Magnolia Bay Quilts fame, it seemed that January 24th was so far away...

Kim has recently posted a few posts on a really great tutorial that she has put together...

The 60-Degree Quilt... Isn't this just scrumptious! The Perfect Scrappy Quilt!

I am in LOVE with all her bright and happy fabrics...

I've started a little project using Kim's tutorial, but we had a little incident yesterday that sort of threw a wrench in my sewing and photographing plans for this post. Let's just say one of our vehicles was minding it's own business in a parking lot and no longer has a door!

I'll share my version of Kim's 60 degree Quilt later this week... But did you know....

Kim has written two scrappy books... Scrap Basket Surprises and...

If you haven't visited Kim at Magnolia Bay Quilts... You really should... Especially today...

Not only is there a great Scrappy Tutorial, but Kim is giving away her book "Scrap Basket Sensations" ! Woot! :) What you waiting for? Head on over and take a look at Kim's tutorial and enter to win her book!

Happy Scrappy Sewing!

Okay--I really need to get quilting--so I can gather more scraps! LOL Of course I yearn for the bright happy colors all of you are using! Going to my stash after 6 years aways shows me that me tastes have really changed!

Though I think the hiatus from sewing in order to scrapbook REALLY helped me play with colors and figure out what I like more.

OH--and I am so sorry to hear about your car! I hope no one was getting in or out when the door was hit!

What a wonderful scrap buster design! Kim's tutorial is very detailed. I hope no one was hurt and that the car minus the door can be repaired. Joanne

Yes, I too hope no one was injured. I have both of Kim's books, but sadly have not used them yet. I should revisit them.

Cool scrappy quilts!!

I hate when that happens to one's innocent car! We left a store one summer to find our truck's bumper smished up and not one witness!

That is such a beautiful quilt and yet another reason that 60 degree ruler is on my wish list.

That little picture of the books on the shelf, with the quilt hanging on the end, happen to be from my shop. Katja's Quilt Shoppe in Kamloops, British Columbia. How on earth did it end up here?

Thanks so much for inviting me to the Sew Scraps Along! There's so much going on over here. I've enjoyed all your wonderful posts, and my head is spinning with all the inspiration. I'm so glad no one was hurt in the accident. Hope your world is back to normal soon!

I love this one too. What a fun way to use up scraps. What am I going to do?

I keep coming back to this quilt. I love its cheeriness and scrappiness, but it's the unexpected that makes it so incredibly appealing to me. It is not simply rows of triangles--which would impress me enough. There are those unexpected strips, the triangles that are made up of more than one fabric. I think I would never get tired of having this slung over a chair or our couch, to be snuggled under and examined.

I love the book Scrappy Sensations! It started me on the road to USING my ever growing scrap bins.

And I am going to do this Scrappy 60 Degree Quilt. Love it!
