The Purple Black and Gray Quilt

I was totally inspired by THIS quilt....

Which led me to THIS Quilt Along....

Where I followed KerrieLyne's awesome tutorial to make this...

Purple Black Gray Quilt

After sewing the blocks for this quilt, there are several different layouts you can choose... I chose the zig zag pattern...

Charm Pack Quilt Along Quilt
And I chose to lay out my blocks a little different than the examples at the Quilt Along.

{I forgot to measure and count the layout of the quilt} If I remember right it's around 50 something inches x 70 something inches.. {I think}...

This was a super fun quilt to sew up! In fact, I rarely make the same quilt pattern twice... but I already have plans to make another one of these...
Graduation Quilt

I have to admit that purple / lavendar are not one of my favorite colors, but I just might have been a little won over after putting this quilt together...

It was a Graduation present for a graduating High School Senior... A little birdie told me that her room is in these colors....
Purple Black and Gray Quilt

And nope... this wasn't on my UFO pile... I caved and started a new project... But... I've still been working on that pile here and there and have more progress to show you soon!

To all of you who have graduates this year... Congrats!!!! And how did our babies grow up so fast? Whether they're graduating from Kindergarten, 8th grade, High School, or College..... It just goes too fast....

K... So we have a graduation ceremony to attend this weekend, and family party! Now if summer would just hurry and get here....

Happy Sewing! ooxx`jodi

Hi Jodi!
What a wonderful quilt...and, it would be the perfect mascot for Bend with it's seven snow covered peaks! The pattern is fantastic with it's up and down peaks and valleys.
Lovely, my sweet friend!

Great quilt. I love purple but if no purple was included I would like it. A quilt design that can be made again but different is always a good find. The one you found was free-thanks for the links, I am inspired.

I do love purple. Several years ago we painted our daughters room dark purple with pearlized stripes. Love it! This quilt would be perfect in there.

Love the black and white chair you did for your Mom.

The scrappy baby quilt is so cute. Thanks for the idea. (I have so many "ideas" I will never get around to all of them!)

Just beautiful! You don't see a lot of purple in quilts these days so it is quite refreshing to see yours :o) Have a great weekend full of celebrations :o)
