My friend Sheri gave me these vintage hand appliqued flower blocks many moons ago... They sat in a project box for many more moons...
And as you know I'm trying to diminish my UFO pile...

So I grabbed the blocks one evening and added a scrappy border in fabrics that were already setting out on my cutting table...

I love these hand appliqued blocks...

And I love the finished runner top!

I love it. It's so cute...
Delightful! And how wonderful that you had fabric that would complement the blocks. 'Everything old is new again'. :-)
That's gorgeous! And good for you for trying to finish some unfinished projects. I'm trying to do the sane thing with some quilt tops I've had lying around - time to quilt and bind!

The scrappy border is a perfect addition to your blocks!
The appliqued blocks are certainly beautiful Jodi, but the fabrics you chose for the borders really made them stand out - great job! blessings, marlene

Just beautiful! I'm in a finishing mode at the moment too. Just got all my tops basted bar 1 and that one is too big to do on my own... Then it will be just a matter of getting through the endless UFO boxes and get them finished :o)
This is just fabulous! I love the way "old meets new"...wouldn't the original quilter be so proud?
