Summer Get Away to Mt. Hood

A couple weeks ago....

We bought this!

{photo from previous owner - of previous owner}

We've been cleaning and Sprucing it up! As in.... Why on earth was there BRASS and Country Blue Flowers all over the inside of a 2003 trailer!? Bleck!

Well the brass has completely disappeared {pictures will be coming soon!}

And we're ready to take our first trip with him. Yes it's a "he". Well,,, because I named it. And it's a boy name. :)
{more on that later}.

Hubby and I are leaving Son #2 and #3 at home and heading up to our beautiful mountain. Did you know we live near the town they call "The Gateway to Mount Hood" ? We do!

We're heading up to one of our favorite lakes... It has beautiful views of Mt. Hood...

We may even visit another one of our favorite lakes while we're up there.

And we'll take a few walks on the trails around the lakes...

And probably see a few of these...

And just around the bend on part of the walk, we'll see this...

And at the end of the day we'll make sure to enjoy every bit of what Mother Nature has to offer...

Hubby will probably spend most his time on his pontoon boat out in the lake fishing. I on the other hand have plenty of hand work to do, my camera battery charged and ready, and a book to read. AND hopefully I'll make some really good progress on THIS PROJECT...

Happy Camping !!!

Oh! P.S... {Re: Great Granny Along}
Lori and I are both out enjoying the great outdoors this weekend... No service for either of us... So.... if you upload a picture to the Great Granny Along flickr Group....
Don't worry if you don't see it until Monday!

Seeing your pictures is making me miss the northwest and the Cascade Mountains. You just don't get those kind of views here in Texas.

I am so jealous! We visited Mount Hood two summers ago so my husband and boys could attend ski racing camp. I spent the week hiking and taking photos. Your favorite lake was also my favorite Hood view! And I got some really nice photos at sunset... Have fun.

I'm jealous, too, because I was born and raised in Portland with a daily view of Mt. Hood and many trips up there. My folks took me kicking and screaming away from there (to Chicago) and I never got back to the most beautiful place in the world. Have a great weekend.

I just moved to the PNW (Seattle area) in January. LOVE IT HERE! I never knew how increibly beautiful this area is!

One of these weekends we'll head down that way.

I can't wait to see the RV re-do! I love our RV (airstream). Just wish it were closer. it's parked at the kids' farm in TN. We'll hopefully bring it up next year (or this Fall if we're lucky).

Have a fantastic time! We are looking for a trailer. We have a motorhome, but have found that we don't like not having wheels once there!!! And we don't have a tow vehicle. Love the size of yours!!! That lake looks stunning. We are lake lovers too. Hubby is a fisher guy, and we love to bob around on the pontoon, he fishing, me reading and/or hooking along!!!
Have fun!!

Oh...How glorious! I'm sure you and your hubby are having such a peaceful time at this very moment! Just last Tuesday, I traveled through Govt. Camp on the way home to Bend and took in the wonder of Mt. Hood! It is so majestic...so huge...so overwhelming!
You just have to share the name you chose for your new diggs! You have my curiosity!
How I love to bring stitching along on camping trips...My recent "Sweet Stitching" hand embroidery project post was started while we were at East Lake (just north of Pauline Lake).
I hope you return home rested and refreshed, my sweet friend!
Blessings,
Carolynn

Your pictures are breathtaking! My brother and his family live outside of Portland and love it there!! I've been out to visit and I could live there in a heartbeat. He took me sight seeing and every corner we went around- he would say, "I know Sis, I'm pulling over!" haha! My kind of country!! Enjoy yourselves and take it all in- it is definitely God's country!!:)

Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!! I love it there! My Dad climbed that mountain many many times. And we celebrated my parents 50th anniversary there a few years ago.

I was just at Mt. Hood on Monday!! What's the name of the lake (or maybe better, the park on the lake)? I'd love to hit those trails sometime - that is probably the best view of Mt. Hood I've seen!!

I grew up in Oregon and never really appreciated that view of Mt. Hood. I visit when I can, but not often enough. Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful pictures - I'm very envious of your Mt. Hood visit. We drove to Corbett, Oregon yesterday, then home again (Seattle area). I wished we could have kept going a little further east to the Mount Hood area - I wanted to see the sights you pictured!
