Blogging and Remodeling...

Hello !
Can you believe I haven't posted on this blog since September 22nd! Geesh!

I thought I better pop in and explain myself.

But first. Do you love that view up there?  I got to spend a weekend at the coast for our Annual Girls Only trip with all the women in my family. (we missed a few this year) I was lying in bed looking out the window when I took this photo! I know! How incredible is that!

So... September 3rd a hot water hose decided to break underneath our kitchen sink. What a mess.
Hot water spraying all over the kitchen = flooded main floor = unplanned remodel. Blah!

And that's all I have to say about that.

On the upside?  We decided I would act as General Contractor and Hubby would do all the Tear Out and Removal so we could use that money towards upgrades. We've barely started the actual "doing", so fingers crossed that everything goes as planned.

And that my friends.... is the main reason I have been vacant from Pleasant Home.  Phone Calls. Phone Calls. Phone Calls. Emails. Phone Calls. Running to and fro. Waiting. Waiting. And Waiting for contractors to show up when they promise. Ha Ha Ha! (insert me rolling my eyes).

There has been no, nadda, zero, nothing, in the sewing dept.. And barely any cooking or baking. (kinda hard to do without a fully working kitchen) Pretty much nothing except remodel stuff. And of course the normal family/life stuff. Which has been pretty busy too.  Our goal is to have this all done by Thanksgiving!
Wish us luck!

And hopefully I'll be back to my normal blogging self - sooner than later...

I've been wondering where you were. Good luck in the remodel. It will be worth it when it is finished. ;)

I can totally relate. we went through 5 months of renos (still putting things back) and hardly blogged during that time. It is all worth it in the end. Now I am back to regular blogging and reading! goodluck with the renos and contractors!

I was worried when one of my favorite blogs went m.i.a!
I hope all your projects are wrapped up just the way you want them and that we see you again soon.

Goodness! Hope all proceeds smoothly going forward and that your kitchen will be better than ever when the renovation is complete.

"Keep calm and carry on." :-)

I like that you titled it an "unplanned remodel" instead of a DISASTER, which is what I might have! Hope things smooth out and all the unplanned planning and tapping of the foot while waiting comes together in the next few weeks. Some handwork next to your phone, maybe?

But how nice you could get away for a little while with "the girls." I, too, hope the rest of the remodel goes well and quickly.

Been there done that a couple of months ago. It sure makes you appreciate running water and a kitchen sink! My remodel went pretty smoothly but there are still homeless items in the living room. Ha!

Amazing view and location. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photo... Looks like a photo from a glossy high-end magazine.
I hope your renovations go well and that you & your husband can keep a sense of humor... I know it is trying.... My wish is that you will be able to have a wonderful Christmas dinner made in your brand spanking new kitchen! Glad to know you are ok. Sometimes i worry when a blog goes quiet for an extended time; so i am relieved. Best wishes & good luck. B

I love the image and was wondering if this is Puget Sound?

I am going to Seattle, WA from New Zealand next week and have been promised a visit to Puget Sound and wondered if this was the same.

Oh hugs to you...there is nothing worse than DIY in a very active room...like a kitchen. Hope it all comes together soon and that life quiets down before the busyness of Christmas :o)
