6 Point Diamond Paper Pieced Quilting

I have a thing for English Paper Piecing.... I think I might be sorta obsessed....

There's THIS project {that I REALLY need to get done}

And THIS project that I've actually worked on here and there and need to do a update...

And now I have another one!

First I got all organized like I did HERE...

Because I saw THIS vintage quilt on Natalia's Piece n Quilt blog and instantly fell in love with it... and I thought to myself.... I could make that with 6 point diamond paper pieces....

And then I saw some of the fabrics in the Marmalade collection.... I had to have some..

When I found out I would be going on a 10 day trip with the husband in Sid... I knew my idea inspired by Natalia's vintage quilt, would be the perfect project to take with me! {I love to hand sew while the husband drives us from one destination to the next...}

And that is what I did...

Inspired by Natalia's vintage quilt and my love of stars in quilts, and my obsession with English Paper Piecing... I made a TON of progress on my new project !

Do you love it?  It's going to be a Baby Quilt....

I'm loving it so far!  And totally making it up as go!  {which is one of the beauties of English Paper Piecing if you ask me.}

If you haven't tried English Paper Piecing, you really should.  Especially if you like hand sewing.

I have some great Paper Pieces for sale in my Etsy Shop HERE including some 6 point diamond pieces.

And there are tons of great tutorials all over the web for English Paper Piecing... just google it!

I'll be sure and share my progress with ya... I hope to make a lot more progress by the end of the month... wish me luck!

This quilt is beautiful. I cannot wait to see every step of the way. I have never done this method but this sure inspires me to try it.

I love what you did with your diamonds. I am also addicted to English paper piecing. I have been looking at a Japanese blog called Pink Caramel. She uses lots of different shapes and I have tried a few. I'll be showing some on my blog soon.

that's gorgeous. my current EPP project is 6 point diamond stars too... just a mini quilt in all solids. I remember when I first saw your EPP projects years ago I thought "I'll never do that" HA!

This is beautifi
. Does paper piecing the diamonds eliminate the inset seams?

What beautiful colors! I have been crushing on the diamonds for a summer hand sewing project! Please keep updating on the progress. Especially if you have any hints about piecing the bigger sections or adding the pieces one at a time to your bigger piece. DO TELL ;)

I do love it! I think I'll have a baby just so you'll make me a quilt! (heh - that would be a miracle - the baby that is.)

I never thought I would do EPP, nor hexies, but here I am, just starting and already addicted. I have to admit I like sewing them individually more than I like sewing them together! When I'm through exploring hexies, probably another doll quilt or two, I will move on to different shapes. Your work on this is lovely...sorry, too pretty for a baby! Toni

Beautiful quilt, and what a fun traveling project. Do you think I could do different blocks like Log Cabin using EPP? Any ideas??

Thanks,
