Our Spring Break

Every year the husband heads over the mountain AKA Mt. Hood and helps some friends on their Ranch with their Branding.  He loves it.... He looks forward to it each year...
I've gone a couple times but it had been a very long time since I went last.

So the husband took some vacation time, we loaded up Sid and we took off over the mountain.  The husband excited to get to the Ranch at the tail end of our trip... And me?  Hoping and Praying for some Sunshine...

Here's a peak at our travels....

It was dreary, gray and foggy the morning we left home...

We actually had to go around the Mountain, because it snowed the night before...
I love the scenery thru the gorge... even in the dreary, gray, foggy, rain...

As we got farther from home, we started to see little bits of sunshine here and there {I love little towns in valley's}

And more bits of blue sky...

I love the clouds when they're like this...

When we arrived at our destination, we saw this.... Gorgeous...  The sun was out, but dang it was cold! Into the teens at night. brrrr....

A couple days later we decided to go exploring.... This is what we drove thru...

And then we came around a bend... and it was like this!

It was oh so cold!  But such a fun little stop while we were exploring...

On another day we headed for the river so the husband could do some fly fishing...
Here's another wonderful town in a valley.... L.O.V.E....

The husband's first fish on the Crooked River...

The river was dotted with fly fisherman.... {see the husband down there}

We parked Sid in three different towns... Enjoyed each one... This was our view from our last stop on our trip... Blue skies every day we were there....

And traveling home was much different... Nothing but blue, blue skies and lots of fun things to look at... Old buildings, old signs, barns, cows, horses and sheep.  Can you see all that white stuff in the background of this picture on the ground? {to the right} Those are Snow Geese! Thousands of them... I wish I would have gotten a photo, but I was just too mesmerized.

I would live here...

We had a wonderful relaxing time... In a couple days I'll share a few photos from one of my Favorite Quilt Shops I got to visit on our trip!

The country side looks amazing. When I think of fishing I think back to my childhood, my dad always fished and we'd camp out and have fish fried in a cast iron fry pan over a fire. In the olden days! Lovely memories. Thanks!

Beautiful over there isn't it? We are headed to central Oregon soon to go branding as well--except we go out on our horses to bring in all the cows. Love it!

Thanks for the pictures. I miss the scenery. Once upon a time I lived between Redmond, Sisters, and Bend, Oregon. The pictures tugged at my heart strings.

I love traveling and taking my camera and capturing the country side. Living in SW Washington, it can be a bit dreary at times, but traveling just a few miles can always bring sunshine!

Beautiful pictures! We just branded our 500 calves last Friday and Saturday. I always have enjoyed that part of having cows. So many of your pictures could fit into even WY and CO. Love your blog
