Great Granny Quilt and Abby of Latimer Lane Quilting

Another Finish !!!

Great Granny Finish!

Have I told you how great it feels to get some of these UFO's done !?!  Well if I forgot to tell ya... it's such a GREAT feeling....

Great Granny Finish!

Lori Holt and I hosted the Great Granny along last year... It started in July...

My quilt top was done in August...

Well it has finally been quilted and bound and washed and dried and smells and feels oh so good!

I had Abby Latimer quilt my Great Granny quilt and she did a fabulous job!

Great Granny Finish!

I chose an edge to edge pattern called Paisley Playtime for the quilting... Abby has a great selection of edge to edge patterns that you can browse HERE...

Abby is currently running a special of a $.01 per inch for edge to edge quilting and a week {most of the time less} turn around....

I am totally thrilled with how this quilt turned out. I LOVE the Great Granny squares made from my scraps, and the edge to edge quilting is perfect!
Great Granny Finish!

And looky here... it's one of my new labels.. it got washed and dried and still looks brand new!
Great Granny Finish!

I'm also really happy with the "tangerine" binding I chose... I texted Abby and said, "ahhh! I don't know what to bind this with?"  We both texted, "orange?"  Yay! It totally works.

And.... I'm really LOVING the back too.  I had 3 extra Great Granny squares and some really fun dot!

Great Granny Finish!

And did I mention how good it feels to get some UFO's done?!?  LOL

If you'd like to contact Abby.... you can find her information HERE.... I have a new page titled "Looking for a Quilter?"  You can also find the link on the sidebar of my website HERE....

Happy Sewing !!! ooxx`jod

Jodi, what a great finish! Celebrate your accomplishment -- maybe with a Tequila Sunrise (or some other tangerine-colored drink?)!

Loved working on this quilt! Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity. Turned out great! The back may be my favorite part too!

You did a great job! Love the label. I finished mine too, but it still sits on a hanger waiting to be quilted. I need to get going!

I love seeing the granny square quilts with edge to edge quilting for that wash, dry and crinkle goodness! I hope you see the blog post I did yesterday showcasing some awesome feathered roses quilting. It's another edge to edge that compliments the quilt perfectly. *wink*
Feeling better today?

Oh, i love everything about this quilt! It makes me feel like wrapping myself up in it with a cup of tea and sitting out on the porch on a frosty morning.

Such a beautiful quilt. I have made a few granny square quilts this year but no great granny square ones. I might add this to my list.

I love it when I can add a front or orphaned square to the back of a quilt!

What a beautiful quilt! I love it when quilters put a neat surprise on the back of quilts too. So clever!

Do I ever love this? Yes! I do! The white background allows all the colors to be so fresh and exciting. Great job.
