Sweet Life Quilt

Let me introduce you to my Sweet Life quilt !  She is a beauty!

The Sweet Life

I joined up with Jana for her Simply Retro Quilt Along.  Simply Retro is Camille Roskelley's latest book. And I totally love every quilt pattern in it!  I had this happy bundle of Millie's Closet from designer Lori Holt and thought the Sweet Life pattern would showcase the prints in Millie's Closet really well.

The Sweet Life

And did you happen to notice the quilting!?!  It was done by the amazingly talented long arm quilter... Teresa Silva ... Teresa blogs at "Quilting Is My Bliss"  and I am beyond thrilled with her custom quilting on this quilt! If you're looking for some custom quilting, I would totally recommend Teresa...

I must admit when I shipped this one off to be quilted I was a little wary. It seemed big and kinda bland and I was wondering if I had chosen the wrong fabrics for this pattern.

The Sweet Life

But a couple days later I got a email from Teresa and I was blown away!  She gave me a little sneak peak of the quilting and I about died.  She totally 'hit the nail on the head' with the quilting on this quilt!

The Sweet Life

As sometimes the case is... I think besides having a great fabric line and pattern to work with, the quilting totally makes this quilt!

The Sweet Life

I especially LOVE the feathered quilting in the center squares!

The Sweet Life

This quilt is huge too!  92" x 92" (the biggest quilt I've made so far)

The Sweet Life

If you'd like to see more pics of the quilt.... Definitely head on over to Teresa's Blog HERE and see her post about the quilt...

But wait ! Before you go.... How would you like to enter a GIVE AWAY?  As part of the Simply Retro Quilt Along... I'm hosting a Give Away over at Jana's blog !

I've put together a little surprise package of goodies from my Etsy Shop and a few other things for ONE LUCKY WINNER! There's even a little charm pack of left over fabrics from the quilt!  A tall stack of 3.5" charm squares of Millie's Closet!

Jana has been doing some fabulous projects and posts during her Simply Retro Quilt Along. So be sure and pop over for a visit to Jana's and enter the Give Away !   HERE...

I learn so much from reading about and seeing other people's quilts. From this lovely quilt I am struck at how well it works to use the light grey sashing and border - thank you!

Oh my gosh! You aren't kidding, the quilting is gorgeous! Someday, I'll be able to "quilt by check" and have lovely creations like this too. Until then, I am loving your pictures of this gorgeous quilt! Stunning!

Your quilt made me decide to get moving and make the Sweet Life quilt. I linked it on Jana's blog. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation.
