Wild Rose and a Square Quilt Block Instructions

I'm running a bit behind on some blog posts... Sorry to those that have been waiting for these instructions!

But here they finally are!

Rose in a Square Baby Quilt

I loved how this baby quilt turned out and plan on making more of these blocks for a larger quilt someday.

Wild Rose and a Square Quilt Block Instructions
Read through all instructions before cutting
Seams are 1/4"
Cut the following:

RED
1 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
4 - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

GREEN
4 - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

WHITE
4 - 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
4 - 2 1/2" x 4 1/2"
4 - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Pair the following 3 1/2" squares:
2 red with 2 green
2 red with 2 white
2 green with 2 white

Draw a diagonal line on each set.
Sew 1/4" on each side of the drawn line
Press
Cut on the drawn line
Press open
Trim to 2 1/2"

*** I like lots of room for trimming so I cut my squares for these HST's at 3 1/2"
You can reduce the waste by cutting the squares at 3 3/8"

Assemble block according to illustration below:

Happy Sewing!  ooxx`jodi
