Blogger Girls Block of the Month 2014

Monique Dillard of Open Gate Quilts is hosting a Blogger Girls Block of the Month. And I was invited to be one of the "Blogger Girls" this year!  So Honored....and Excited!

Here are the fabrics I've chosen to make my quilt with!

I splurged before Christmas and bought some Liberty fabrics from the fabulous Amanda @ Westwood Acres. I just LOVE them.  I've chosen a cute little black and white gingham for the sashing. I think it's going to be really fun!

Blogger Girls BOM 2014

Each of the Blogger Girls designed a block and Monique designed the setting of the quilt, and wrote the instructions.

The blocks are 6" finished and I'm love with them so far! Here is my first block; Version 1

and.... Version 2 - Same block design but oh so different because of color and fabric placement.

For the next 6 months Monique will post one block with instructions on the first day of the month for FREE @ her blog: [Open Gate Quilts] We will be making 2 or 3 versions of each block. Each version of the block will be slightly different so that the quilt will have 13 unique blocks.

Each of the Blogger Girls are using different fabrics... So fun! Be sure and stop by their blogs and see their fabric choices and first blocks!

I am looking forward to working on this quilt for the next 6 months. I can't wait to add some blocks and sew some sashing on.  I've wanted to do a bright and colorful quilt with gingham sashing for a while now, so it will be fun to see if it comes out like the idea in my brain! LOL

Happy Sewing!!! ooxx`jodi

Great fabrics. Your blocks aren't exactly the same though... two of the corner HSTs are switched, aren't they?

Gorgeous fabrics! I love the blocks, too, especially the one that is different looking. I think you will have a beautiful quilt when finished.

Very very pretty fabrics! Shocked me to see the small b/w gingham. Just yesterday I picked out some fabrics for a project and thought I might try something a little off the wall and use a b/w gingham to be different and when I wake up I see this! Nice taste I say! Lol
