A Wintery Hunter Star Table Runner

I love little white twinkling lights during the winter months.

I also love to decorate with a touch of aqua, white and snowflakes during January.

Our home always seems so naked after Christmas comes down, I decided I needed a fun table runner to tie my winter'y theme all together… I had so much fun making this one! It's just like the one I made HERE..

This table runner is super easy and quick to make using the AccuQuilt Go Cutter and the GO! Hunter Star Die. It’s one of my favorite dies.

I chose one of my favorite Aqua Fabrics from Moda #9900-263 "Spray" and my favorite white on white snowflake from Kate Spain - "In from the Cold", for the front.  The back is a perfect aqua and white snowflake print from Marcus Fabrics called "Frotsy 'n Fun." The Binding is also the white on white snowflake print.

And I absolutely love it on my great grandma's table. It fits perfectly.

Here are the fabric requirements and instructions for those of you who have a AccuQuilt cutter and the Hunter Star die.

Note: if I'm not mistaken,
the Hunter Star die is compatible with the GO! Baby, GO! Cutter and GO! Big Electric Cutter… You can find the Hunter Star Die  HERE  or  HERE

Material Requirements:

Backing - 1/2 Yard
Batting - 50” x 14”
Binding – ¼ Yard [3 strips @ 2 ¼” x width of fabric]

Aqua – 2/3 yard
Cut 2– 11” x width of fabric strips {width of fabric is approx.. 42”}
Subcut into 16 – 5” x 11” rectangles

White – 2/3 yard
Cut 2 – 11” x width of fabric strips
Subcut into 16 – 5” x 11” rectangles

Place fabric right side up on the GO! Cutter and cut according to instructions for the Hunter Star die

Sew blocks according to the instructions.

Sew 4 blocks together to form a row

Instructions for piecing a ½ yard Backing:

Trim 4” off the ½ yard backing
Cut from selvage to selvage (the longest width of the fabric)
= 4” x 42”

Subcut 2 – 4” x 13” pieces

Trim selvage edges on the ½ yard piece.

Sew one 4” x 13” piece to each end of the ½ yard piece.

Finishing your Table Runner:

Layer your Backing, Batting and Table Runner Top,
Baste, and Quilt as desired.

Using the ¼ yard fabric for binding, cut 3 strips 2 ¼” x width of fabric. (approx.. 42”) and bind!

Happy Sewing !!! ooxx`jodi

Oh, I love the Hunter's Star - that's on my "quilt dreams" list. Your photos are always lovely, and is that a new grandbaby picture?? If so, how wonderful!

Beautiful, but I'm partial to an aqua and white star table topper that a good friend gave to me!

I love this color combination. I have a hunter's star that's a WIP that I'm really enjoying making. I'm using the Deb Tucker ruler.
