Quilts for Gifts Part 2

I have been wanting to make this quilt since I first saw the pattern... I fell totally and completely in love at first sight!

The pattern is called 'Strawberry Social' from Margot Languedoc of The Pattern Basket....

This quilt went to my sister. I hadn't made my sister a quilt either. And it was time.

Strawberries are kinda our thing. We grew up picking them not only for our mom for homemade freezer jam and other nummy treats every summer.  But we also spent many hours picking them for spending money, gas money, clothes money, etc...

Abby Latimer quilted it for me and I LOVE the pattern. It's called Strawberries!

I normally don't make quilts twice.  But I just might have to make myself one of these.

I have the pattern and a kit to make this one, but I think I am going to use a navy background instead of white. So cute!

one of the first quilts I put together, was an unfinsihed quilt my Grandmother started. I knew very little about quilting. and had already put together another one of hers.
The second was a strawberry quilt. appliqued to a white background alternated w a white block that I think now was supposed to be embroidered strawbery flower. I embroidered it instead.
Still have that one and it's on the extra bed, so that it doesn't get ised much. wish I could add a pic here.

Darling quilt! My grandson loves strawberries and I'm thinking maybe some place mats? I'm not starting anymore big projects until I have some finishes with my WIPs but it is certainly tempting. I love the fabrics you chose and the quilting design is perfect. TFS!

I have this entire kit ready to go as soon as the cast on my arm is off, check Pattern Basket for an update, achocolate covered strawberry in the midst...! It says she wil email the directions, she never did for me..oh well, perhaps you will have better luck or you can just wing it...very eye catching...Also, have seen it done with one berry in the yellowish stage, not quite ripe, darling. Cannot help but love this one!

I am sitting on this pattern. I have a bunch of yardage put aside for the strawberries and I just stare at it. I think I need to get on it for 2015.
