My mother and aunt connie used to love to take us (my bro and I and my 4 cousins) to the cemetary for Sunday walks.
this post brought back so many memories of that. My mother and my Aunt Connie are now both widows (within the past 2 years) and cemetaries now hold a different meaning for them. but at the time they loved to read the stones to us and remind us about how much they loved us.

Gosh, poor Mary -- she lost her child and husband in such a short time period. I love cemetaries too. It's always so sad to see worn tombstones where you can barely read what's written on them.

I too love cemeteries, of course the old kind that actually had headstones. Your pics are beautiful. I always wondered the stories behind the people...and we sometimes make them up - I never thought to actually see if I could find out.

Before my daughter was born, we looked through several cemeteries looking for name inspirations.
